Our history
From the immensity of Alentejo, our guest house project comes to life, led by our little family Hélder, Mary and Nina.
After years of traveling the world, from the captivating landscapes of Reunion Island, through Africa and New Zealand to the paradisiacal beaches of French Polynesia, Tiago felt the need to return to his roots and Mary to follow him and create a place where the soul can recharge.
In September 2023, the idea was born: combining our love for the art of living, our passion for the land and our desire to welcome travelers in a preserved natural environment.
Today we open the doors of Horta.
Here each tree is a guardian of biodiversity, where each bird song tells a story.

Our history
Welcome to Horta da Lameira, a house rich in history, located in the heart of the vast Alentejo plain.
Built in the 1980s, this family home extends over an area of 6 hectares.
Surrounded by multiple species of trees, our typical regional house offers shade and biodiversity, creating a true haven of peace. Even on hot summer days, the house remains cool and welcoming.
You will have a large room where you can enjoy your meals, in our company if you wish. Our spacious rooms are decorated with good taste and know-how, and all equipped with a bathroom with toilet and shower.
Take advantage of our large shaded terrace overlooking the pool to relax with a good book or enjoy a delicious breakfast.
At night, the terrace lights up harmoniously, creating a welcoming environment where moments of sharing continue well into the night.
Your stay
Welcome to Horta da Lameira!
Upon your arrival, you will be greeted with a cold welcome drink, a first convivial gesture to immerse you in our welcoming environment.
After a quick check-in, you will be escorted to your room, where you can get comfortable and start enjoying your stay.
Whether for recommendations on local activities, specific needs or simply to clarify your doubts, don't hesitate to ask.
In Horta, a wide variety of activities are available:
- Enjoy a large 16 meter long swimming pool for refreshing and relaxing moments.
- Relax in the shade of the plane trees on the terrace or in the hammock under the pergola, an ideal setting to recharge your batteries.
- Explore the surrounding area with our bicycles
- Have fun with the family with our ping pong table and table football, archery, badminton and our swings for children.
- Some nights we organize movie nights under the stars, comfortably sitting under a blanket and of course, with popcorn to accompany this unique experience.

Welcome to our charming oasis in the heart of Portugal! Discover our “Breakfast” space where the day begins with an explosion of flavors.
At Horta we highlight the art of preparing breakfasts with fresh, local products, often harvested directly from our garden depending on the time of year.
Imagine enjoying our homemade breakfasts and snacks, enriched with juicy freshly picked oranges and lemons, bringing a touch of authenticity to every bite.
Let yourself be seduced by the fresh bread prepared with passion by Mary, our baking expert. To accompany these delicacies, enjoy our homemade jams, carefully made with seasonal fruits, and our fresh eggs coming directly from our adorable chickens.
We are here to meet your needs and adapt to your dietary preferences, whether they are allergies to gluten, lactose or others. Just let us know and we will be happy to offer you alternatives, so that your experience with us is as comfortable and pleasant as possible.

Dear organizers of retreats, workshops and special events, our guest house offers you an idyllic setting for your wellness stays. Our large 90 m2 room is ready to host your yoga, dance, pilates sessions and much more. Give your attendees a spacious, serene space to recharge, connect, and refocus.
Project 2: Escape in a van
Go on an adventure with our VAN and explore the hidden treasures of the Alentejo coast. Treat yourself to a seaside getaway, discover secluded beaches and let yourself be captivated by the region's natural beauty by renting our van.
Project 3: Creativity Destination
Reconnect with your creativity during our full-day workshops. From jewelry making to macramé and cooking workshops, discover new passions and learn new skills in an inspiring environment.
Project 4: Cinema under the stars
Immerse yourself in the magic of outdoor cinema with our movie nights under the stars. Feel comfortable on a cozy blanket and let yourself be transported by carefully selected films, in a charming setting under the starry Alentejo sky.
